Every Swift Counts

Louise Bentley dedicates every summer to hand-rearing fallen swifts. These miraculous birds fly over 3400 miles all the way from Africa to share our homes.

Sadly, their numbers are now in steep decline and they are red listed as endangered. In her Bolton home, Louise takes 50 fallen chicks under her wing and hand feeds each of them every hour night and day, to give them a chance to grow.

After director Nyal Mueenuddin journeyed across Pakistan, from the Karakoram Mountains in the north to the southernmost regions of the country, to document the lives of communities devastated by the catastrophic 2022 floods, he continues his mission to raise awareness of the ongoing climate crisis.

This new film follows two extraordinarily brave young girls, Hania and Nafeesa, who are campaigning for climate action and travelling across Pakistan to educate and inspire others. In this chapter of their journey, they attempt to reach Balochistan despite the significant security challenges facing the region, including attacks by the Balochistan Liberation Army, an armed separatist group seeking independence from Pakistan and designated as a terrorist organisation by the Pakistani government.
